We have chosen this thrilling trio along with Reserve Wines to introduce you to three real treats you can enjoy throughout the summer. We hope you don’t yet know them as there’s so much pleasure in discovering new wines.
You’ll receive all three bottles at home and we’ll also send you tasting notes and a tasting mat to help you organise your experience. The Zoom session takes place on Friday 31st July, 8pm-9pm but is available afterwards as a recording should you wish to revisit it.
This event is strictly limited to 25 sets. Please order by midnight, 15th July so that we can get your wine to you in time.
You will receive instructions as to how to prepare for the tasting in advance (which wines to chill, how many glasses etc) – the more of you there are, the more glasses you’ll need – you’ll work it out!
We’ll talk you through each wine – where it’s from, how it’s made, what food it goes with and the characteristics you’ll be able to identify in each. Also, we’re hoping that we’ll be introducing you to three new wines to love as they are all really good. If you do like them, our friends at Reserve Wines will put together a mixed case for you and give you 10% off!
So what wines will you taste? They are the following beauties:
Ca’ dei Frati, Cuvee dei Frati Brut NV
This is a ‘Champagne style’ Italian sparkling wine from a small region on the south banks of the stunning Lake Garda. This one producer is the only grower/producer who makes it. It’s made from a local mutation of Verdicchio, a common Italian white grape, that makes particularly fine, age-worthy wines and it’s blended with a touch of Chardonnay for a bit of finesse. It’s been aged much longer than the minimum time required in Champagne and so is rich, complex and flavourful. It’s a real find this one – you’d be paying over £40 for a Champagne of similar quality but hard pressed to tell the difference.
Amalaya Calchaquí Valley Torrontes /Riesling
You don’t often get a Torrontes blended with Riesling, that’s what makes this fresh, citrusy white so unusual. It’s really easy to drink and pairs with lots of summery food, making it an ideal friend to keep on hand throughout the season. It comes from the highest vineyards in the world in Cafayate, Argentina. You’ll be able to ask questions about this and the other wines during the session.
De Loach Heritage Collection Zinfandel
This is a dense, powerful yet smooth Zinfandel from California. This grape is originally from southern Italy, where it’s known as Primitivo. It was brought over by Italian migrants looking for their fortunes in the Gold Rush and still wanted a taste of home. It thrives in the heat of California’s sun drenched vineyards, and is known for making particularly fine reds from the high concentration of old vines still surviving.
This is a fantastic way to meet three new wines and become friends forever!
Strictly limited to 25 sets. Order by midnight, 15th July. Book early to avoid disappointment!
